Zesty Sesame Noodle Recipe

I like this recipe for Zesty Sesame Noodles since they can be served both warm or cold.  This recipe makes quite a lot of noodles, so I generally halve the recipe.

If I am serving this recipe cold, I usually add a little more soy sauce right before serving since the noodles absorb some of the sauce.

Pepper sa-te sauce can be found in Asian supermarkets and is extremely hot.  If you do not have that on hand, you can also use the same amount of chili garlic sauce.

  • 1 Pound of Spaghetti Pasta
  • 1/4 Cup of Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons of Rice Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Garlic Power
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Cracked Pepper
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Pepper Sa-Te Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup of Spring Green Onions, Finely Chopped
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds
  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to directions.
  2. When pasta is cooked remove from stove and drain.
  3. Place cooked pasta in a large bowl.  Add rice vinegar, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, ginger, garlic power, cracked pepper, and pepper sa-te sauce.  Stir until ingredients are well mixed.
  4. Toast sesame seeds in a small pan until lightly tan.
  5. Finely slice the green spring onion tops.
  6. Sprinkle green onions slices and the toasted sesame seeds over the top of the noodle mixture.

Cooking Tips – I usually toast my sesame seeds in a small pan.  Use about about a 1/4 teaspoon or less of sesame seeds.

Carefully watch the sesame seeds as they can burn quickly in a hot pan.

You can serve this versatile recipe as either a main dish or a side dish.

I was out of spring green onions today.

Instead I used a few teaspoons of cut up chives and it worked out fine.

Thanks for your comment. I’m glad that Al, your husband, was able to make some money on handmade wreaths (?). He must be crafty and have a good way with ribbon. Take care and have a great week.
