Memorial Day 2026

Memorial Day 2026

OK, we are a little late with our Memorial Day 2026, coverage of our day. However, it is never too late to remember all of those who have paid the price for our freedom.

We want to, also, give our Readers a little insight to our day but also don’t want to forget about the true meaning of the day.

Memorial Day Car Wash

We were up early, so we decided to pull in to the Flagship Car Wash, Ashburn location, for a free car wash for veterans. We left with a clean and shiny vehicle.

There were only a few people at the cash wash, so we had our choice of vacuum bays.

Interestingly enough, at the car wash, we noted a Cybertruck with a modern take on camouflage.

Then it was off to the donut shop for coffee. It was there we met Adriana, a friendly store employee, who allowed us to take a photograph of their delicious looking donut display to use in our blog.

She stated that on Veteran’s Day, the store usually gives a free donut to vets.

Lastly, we visited the furniture store to take advantage of their Memorial Day sale event.

Ending Notes on Memorial Day 2026 Blog

Memorial Day means something different to everyone. Even though we shopped and took advantages of sales, in the end, it is all about honoring those brave men and women who are no longer here. It is about visiting those grave sites and remembering the past.

I noticed this Missing Man Table recently in Chick Fa La restaurant and I liked the story it tells. Everything on the table represents something to those who have served and are not coming home.

The empty glass symbolizes their inability to share a toast, and the chair is empty simply because they are gone.

A special thank you to the Adriana, the cashier at Dunkin’ Donuts for allowing us to use a photograph taken at their store and also a shout out to Vigario Management Corporation.

As always, today’s blog is dedicated to Roxanne Berkey’s brother who lost his life in the battle on Hamburger Hill in Vietnam.
