FMB Virtual Art Gallery Tour

Red Flowers in a Vase Red Flowers in a Vase

Farmhouse Magic Blog Readers you are in for a treat today because we are having a virtual art gallery tour.

I’m giving my interpretation of the posted art work not necessarily those of the artist and some of the titles were made up.

All the work is colorful, primitive, and child like.

This first art work is entitled “Red Flowers in a Vase” and is done in poster paint with brushes and finger painting.  The bright red flowers seem to pop from the vase which is sitting on a brown table.

This second photograph shows an artistic still life work done with a pencil sketch and water color paints.

The work includes a glass of lemonade along with a bowl of fruit.

This colored chalk art work entitled “The Long Road” has two white lines on the road.  A blue moon is in the sky.  I think it would be a little iffy to drive on this road at night.

The road is flanked by a tall brown fence.

On the other side the fence, we have a sleeping forest with a dusting of snow.

On the above photograph, I really enjoyed looking at the “poster like” art work stating that with “No Work!, Be Happy!” one can “Sail Away.”

In particular I like the utter joy on the faces of the people on the “cruise ship and/or pirate ship” depending on your point of view.

From the Famous “Boys in the Snow” Series

Red Scarf in the Snow Red Scarf in the Snow

This piece of art work shows a young boy out for some fun in the snow.

The white chalk snow flakes are lightly falling.

The wind is whipping the boy’s red scarf in the air.  The boy’s blond hair is also blowing in the crisp winter wind.

It’s a good thing he is wearing his black boots and his blue mini mittens.  The art work was done in colored construction paper and black ink.

This final “Boys in the Snow” pen and crayon drawing, shows the same mini blue mittens.

The red and blue patterned scarf covers the boy’s lower face.

Not sure if it is snowing or if snowballs are being tossed at the boy.

This crayon and pen drawing is entitled “The Hockey Stick of Skill”.

It includes a black hockey puck on an ice rink.

To me it seems like it is statement of man’s use of objects to enhance his skills much like an artist with a crayon.

I enjoyed this poster collage art work and the message it sends.

The medium is colored ink pens and magazine photographs.

“Yes” food and “No” food, what could be simpler?

Farmhouse Magic Blog has an issue with that crossed out birthday cake though.

Everyone should have cake on their birthday even if it is a “No” food.

This next work of art is entitled, “Birds Fly South in the Winter. . .” and is on loan to FMB Gallery.

It is done in colored and number 2. lead pencils.

The bright red, blue and yellow birds are flying south for the winter with big smiles on their faces.

In the blue sky background, there are jumbo-sized snowflakes falling.  It looks like those birds better hurry up.

Abstract Art

Two Pine Trees on Mars Two Pines Trees on Mars

What virtual art gallery tour would be complete without a little abstract art?

I took liberties with this title and named this art work “Two Pine Trees on Mars”.  The work is done with poster paints on colored construction paper.

Our last art piece is made of construction paper and crayon.

It is entitled “Peek-A-Boo Eye” and gives the viewer a peek into the playful mind of the artist.

So ends our virtual art gallery tour.

We hope you enjoyed this virtual art gallery tour from the Farmhouse Magic Blog Metropolitan Museum of Art.

It was great fun seeing some old art work and putting it together for this blog.

It’s also nice that we can have a little fun with art.
