Using Your Convection Oven

I wanted to talk in this blog briefly about using the convection setting on my oven.

When using the convection oven feature, a fan turns on which circulates the air through the baking chamber reducing hot and cool spots.

There is both a regular and a convection setting on my oven.

Yesterday I baked my quiche, chocolate chip cookies and rolls all at the same time with the convectional setting turned on.

I used a 350 degree setting on my oven placing my items on two racks in my oven.

Everything turned out great.

I guess the main advantage of using a convection oven, is that  you can use multiple racks in your oven at the same time.

Food is also cooked evenly and quicker.

Since most recipes are written for regular ovens the temperature and times will be a little different.

As a rule of thumb, set your oven temperature at about 25 degrees less and check on the item sooner than usual.

I love my convection oven and will definitely purchase another one.

Happy Baking to All!
