Yesterday I watched the live streaming of a college graduation which was on via the college’s web page. Live streaming or “streaming” is to transmit and send live video and audio, in real-time.
Since I was unable to attend this particular college graduation, it is wonderful to see everything happen in real time.
The students got their diplomas in real time.
Watching the live streaming of a college graduation is much like live television. Live streaming is, also, great for watching sporting events, celebrity events, and playing video games.
Drawbacks to Live Streaming
There are some drawbacks to live streaming events.
First, with live streaming, the film can’t be edited, redacted or cut and if there are mistakes, they are seen by the public.
Secondly, live streaming can’t be censored and we all remember that one famous wardrobe malfunction.
Thirdly, if children are watching and the content is offensive, there is no way to control this. There are so many things that parents do not want their children exposed to but with live streaming this happens.
Ending Comments on Streaming of a College Graduation
Viewing this live streaming college graduation was awesome and I got to live every moment with the graduate.
This is actually, the second time I have followed a graduation. One high school graduation happening last year I wanted to attend but was unable to go to due to COVID numbers. Since the entire graduation was on live stream I didn’t miss a moment of the speeches or the scholarship presentations. They also allowed the filming to run a little after the ceremony, so we saw some of the people in the audience.
Therefore, live streaming is a great way to view events, such as college graduations, from anywhere in the world in real time. Sometimes it makes sense to view events via live streaming because in person attendance isn’t possible.
