Pumpkin Color Choices

I wasn’t expecting this to be a real thing, but pumpkin color choices might reveal a bit about your personality. So, it seems most people have read the psychology behind a person’s color choice of a car. But perhaps pumpkin color choice, also, tells a bit about them. Humm, let’s see what we can come up with here.

Believe me, I have little expertise with this subject. In fact, none whatsoever, so I’m only going by what I find online.

Bright Orange Pie Pumpkins.

Orange Pumpkin Choice

If you select an orange pumpkin, it usually is the traditional choice. The orange color symbolizes warmth and autumn. People selecting an orange pumpkin often want to carve it into a jack-o-lantern. Or use it for fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving decorations.

My own observation is if you buy a small orange pie pumpkin, you might like to cook and bake. Perhaps a homemade pumpkin pie or bread is in your future?

White Pumpkin Choice

The color white symbolizes purity, simplicity and freshness. Opting for this color suggests a person is into cleanliness and perhaps wishing for perfection. White pumpkins work well in a sleek modern decorative look. Some white pumpkins are called Caspers which were probably named after that friendly ghost.

Red/Dark Orange Pumpkin Choices

A red or dark orange pumpkin might be chosen by those who love to stand out. Red is a passionate color full of energy. It’s the color for those who have a zest for life. I’m not sure if there is a true red pumpkin but this red/dark orange pumpkin seems to come pretty close.

Perhaps people who like this color pumpkin want something unique on their doorstep? Along with these bumpy pumpkins, they seem to gather more attention than the traditional orange pumpkin.

Gray and Silver Pumpkins

Selecting gray or silver pumpkins perhaps means a person does not want too much attention and wants to remain low-key. A gray or silver pumpkin is definitely not flashy. To me, these grayish/blue pumpkins are more elegant than other pumpkins.

These grayish/blue pumpkins are mixed with light yellow pumpkins.

Ending Notes on Pumpkin Color Choices

In closing, what color pumpkin will you select this year? Does it really tell a bit about your personality type? Well, these are questions that only the pumpkin buyer can answer.

Here at Farmhouse Magic Blog, I usually put a real orange pumpkin on my doorstep but use faux white pumpkins to decorate around the house. Boy, that messes up this theory with pumpkin color, doesn’t it?

Hope you enjoyed this fun and thought-provoking blog.

As always, a Big Thank You to Merrifield Garden Center for allowing me to blog and take photographs at their pumpkin-filled garden center.
