Grilling a Perfect Steak

This blog deals with how to grill a perfect steak.  What I found to be of great help in starting a BBQ fire is to use a steel charcoal chimney starter.  You place two pieces of newspaper in the bottom, fill the top area with charcoal, then use a match to light the newspapers.  In approximately 20 minutes you will have hot coals for your BBQ.

When the charcoals turn grayish white and are very hot, dump the charcoals in the grill.  Use a BBQ mitt to protect your hands when you dump the hot coals.

At this point, clean your grill, cover your grilling area with aluminum foil, and spray the foil with nonstick spray.  Place the grill on top of hot coals.

Place your steaks on the grill.  Season your steaks with pepper and salt.  Be careful not to over grill the steaks or they will become tough.

When the steaks are done, use a clean plate to take them off the grill and enjoy.  I’m serving my steaks with twice baked mini potatoes and baked beans.

(By the way, wearing  bright green plaid pants when grilling is optional).
