Tree Removal and Landscaping Project

First Day of Landscaping Project

This was the first day of our landscaping project.

We removed one of the large maple trees on my front lawn.  This tree had grown too large for the space it was in plus the roots were on the surface making mowing the lawn difficult.

It was very interesting watching the professional tree trimmers.  They tied each cut limb with a large rope so they could gently lower it down to the ground.

The branches and leaves were then fed into a wood chipper.

After the front tree was removed, the tree stump grinder came in to finish the job.

The workers set up two large pieces of plywood to deflect some of the flying wood chips.

We, also, had a large pine tree trimmed out back with the use of a cherry picker.  See the above photograph.

It was a very loud morning but all the work went as expected.

The workers even took a bunch of tree limbs my husband previously cut down.

A definite plus to the tree removal is that my living room in now filled with a soft autumn light.

Second Day of Landscaping Project

On the second day of the landscaping project, piles of dirt and wood clippings were loaded into the truck.

The remaining roots were  pried up and removed from the lawn.

Potted plants were placed in the appropriate areas by the landscaper.

All plants were planted with soil amendments and then mulched with hardwood.

Three rectangular stepping stones were placed as a pathway.

The areas of the lawn which had been torn up were filled in and planted with sod.

Everything was thoroughly watered.

We were very  pleased with the way our project turned out.

Now, we need to get working on seeding our lawn.

This photograph shows the completed project.

I’ve added a bright maroon chrysanthemum near the front door for more color.  You should always have some color at your front door.

The landscaper allowed extra space in front of the spirea golden elf plants, so I can plant perennials come spring.
