Our weekends are usually very busy, but not too busy to stop and pick up the FREE bookshelf on the side of the road. It had a FREE sign taped to it.
Wow, what a lucky find as we continue to decorate our condo, which by the way, is no longer empty. It now has a collection of modern, sleek, and budget friendly pieces but looks expensive to my eye.
We, also, like the idea of all the living room furniture not being of the same height to give the space a little more interest and variation.
Transporting the FREE Bookshelf
The free bookshelf was almost too tall to put in the van. First, to move the bookshelf, we took out all the shelves. Then, we wedged it into the back of the van with the back seats put down.
At the estate sale we went to we saw a couple struggling to get a dresser up from the basement. They should have taken out the drawers to make it easier to get up the steps and to transport.
Anyway, we didn’t have to go far but it was difficult to get the new bookshelf up the many steps to the top unit condo.
Then the shelves were brought up and placed back into the bookshelf.
Also, noted were circular adjustors on the bottom of the legs so the piece so it could be placed even on any surface.
Ending Notes on the FREE Bookshelf
The lovely free bookshelf is in pristine condition and looks wonderful in the living room at the condo.
However, our condo owner stated he likes the open space and we’re not sure if he is going to like this furniture addition or not.
We, also, added a few books to the shelves. However, it looks like more shopping is needed to fill out the look. As a reader told me, the shelves need more “Do Dads” and I agree.
OK, time to fill out those shelves, right?
Let’s see if we can find something to work with the hobbies or interests of our homeowner. Perhaps we need to check out our basement again to see if we can find a few things down there. Nothing says more to a slim budget than FREE.
Thanks again for the FREE Bookshelf!
