Yes, this Decorating Diva is busy with a number of new home projects. Today we took a trip to the secondhand store to looks for a number of things we need for the empty rooms.
Decorating Diva and the Secondhand Modern End Table
While out shopping, I immediately noted this modern clear glass top end table with two graceful curving, (air foil), metal legs mounted on a black wooded base. The top of the table is secured with a metal circular piece. It is heavy and well made without any chips or cracks. Well, I purchased it since it is about perfect for the living room I am decorating. Wow, at only $25, this is a great deal for the money.
I noted on the bottom of the table legs a section where there is a little rust. It looks like someone spilled something on it which wasn’t properly cleaned up. Not to worry, though, I will fix that with a little of lubricating spray and some rubbing.
Of course, all the dust was removed when we set the table up in the living room.
Decorating Diva also checked out the many pieces of artwork and or mirrors for the walls but didn’t find anything appropriate.
Towels, Flatware, Trash Can, etc.
When thinking about it, this new place needs lots of regular household items like towels, flatware, a trash can, etc. The new homeowner told me he currently owns one bath towel. OK, that’s not enough towels.
So off to that website of the European big box store for some additional bath towels, kitchen towels, a trash can, utensil holder, and flatware caddy. Note – I’m thinking of using this flatware caddy for some other purpose. A larger container is better suited to hold the many pieces.
Decorating Diva to Shop for Area Rugs
I tried to order a smaller sample of this vinyl floor planking. However, right now I only have a large board to use as a sample to take shopping with me.
The vinyl floor planking in the unit, looks quite attractive. This photograph shows a close up the Sterling Oak flooring.
I’m currently looking for an 8 foot by 10-foot area rug for the dining room.
I’m thinking of purchasing a plain area rug without much of a design on it.
Rug colors that would work well are light gray, tan, ecru, off white, light brown, etc.
Currently, the small table and four chairs are set up in the dining room. On the table is an unusual vintage movie camera centerpiece.
Many years ago, I found this object in a secondhand store and now finally have a perfect use for it.
Please note at the table are two black chairs and two white chairs.

Slowly, the rooms are beginning to take shape and make this place into a home.
