Recently, while out shopping, I came across the following great Home Décor Bargains which I decided to blog about. Bargains can be new, used, repurposed, free or something else. However, a bargain must be a great price on something you can use.

Tent Sale at Merrifield Garden Center

FMB Readers, don’t overlook the common sidewalk or tent sales. I wait every year for Merrifield Garden Center’s Summer Tent Sale. The outdoor tents are loaded with absolutely gorgeous home décor bargains. In particular, they always seen to have a lot of Christmas items on sale.

So, I guess it is kind of a Christmas in July sale when you think about it.

What FMB Purchased

Here is what I purchased from the tent sale. Number one, Faux Prickly Pod/Japanese Maple/Grass Branches – I loved the subtle pinks, greens, and off white colors of these faux silk flowers. The pods almost look real; I love realistic looking greenery. I purchased four branches of these faux flowers marked down from $11.98 each to only $2.00 a stem for a total of $8.00. When looking at them, they could also be used in a Thanksgiving display. And since they are made of silk, they can be used many, many times.

Spring Time Home Décor Bargains

The second and third items, would be for my spring display. I purchased one icy stem of lilies of the valley white flowers and two packages of faux bird eggs. The bird eggs are small, white and gold splashed. The iced lilies of the valley were priced at $2.00 marked down from $4.99. I would have purchased more of these but this was the last one I saw.

The faux eggs are marked Gilded Bloomsbury eggs, 1-inch long. Originally priced at $7.99, both packages were marked down to $2.00 each.

Secondhand Stores for Home Décor Bargains

This time, I decided to shop secondhand stores with a gal pal. But, again, I found great secondhand deals on things I need.

And, this is what I purchased in the secondhand stores we visited. One, an adorable aerospace luggage tag. This unique luggage tag will make it easier to spot suitcases on that next airline trip. This tag is $2.00, but I know I will use it. In fact, I’ll go down to the basement today and place it on one piece of the luggage.

Also, purchased in a secondhand store is this super nice stainless steel fork and knife carving set. This was one super bargain I couldn’t pass up. It looks almost new and is in the original box. My gal pal remarked that it is a nice set because you do not need to polish it like regular silver. It is made by BYFIELD by Carvel Hall and is in a colonial design. The blades are made of surgical stainless steel and are dishwasher proof. No thanks, I don’t think I’ll put this set in the dishwasher as I want to keep them for a long time. My secondhand price was $10.00 but I think these are worth at least $40.00 from what I’ve seen online.

How about an unopened bag of decorative Shred. The Decorative Shred is in a 2-ounce bag in natural fall colors of red, orange and greens. I like to add this to gift in paper bags. It can also be used for filling vases, bowls, and baskets. Or you can sprinkle it on your table top around the partyware. One use not mentioned, is to make a faux chocolate roll filling. Of course, that was another blog.

The last item I purchased, is an Ames Garden Fork, made in Germany. It has four tines and a hardwood handle and is very sturdy. This one I paid $10.00 for, but see new ones online for $30 to $40 dollars.
