Candle Fairy Lights

It is a super hot day today, so we are going to do a Candle Fairy Lights project and stay cool in the house. No outdoor gardening blog today.

Gather Supplies

The first thing you need to do is to gather the supplies needed for this project. There are only three items on the list, but it might take you awhile to find a clear vase or holder to fit the candle you are using.

Supply List

Use one Large Flameless Candle with batteries. My flameless candle is from Pottery Barn. Do not use a real candle with this project as that could be dangerous. I am not giving you dimensions for your candle because you will need to get a candle to fit into your vase holder.

One Box of LED Fairy Lights with batteries is needed. My fairy lights uses three double AA batteries. I purchased the fairy lights for 40% off in an after Christmas sale at a garden store. They were originally priced at $12.99 for 19 feet of 50 lights.

Glass Vase or Holder – I purchased this large clear vase in a secondhand store for $5. The vase was made by Libby glass. Make sure your vase is clean and dust free as it might be difficult to clean at a later time.

Directions for Making Candle Fairy Lights

Before your begin the project, make sure your flameless candle fits into the vase you selected. Next, insert the batteries in both items to make sure things are working the way they should.

Tips for Handling Fairy Light – The string of Fairy Lights is very thin and delicate, so be very careful not to tug or pull on them too much. They also tend to easily tangle so unroll one section at a time.

Uses for Fairy Lights

Hide the battery case behind the candle.

Starting from bottom of the candle, work your way up with the Fairy Lights. I used a small piece of tape at the ends to keep the lights in position. Also, the battery case, should be on the bottom as it is easier to hide that way.

Start the fairy lights from the bottom of the candle.

When completed, your project is ready to display.

Ending Notes on Candle Fairy Light Project

This is quick project is easy to do and looks great sitting on my fireplace mantle next to a vintage wooden plate.

So, enjoy your crafting day and stay cool.
