This month’s supper club meeting is Hola Argentina in honor of the FIFA World Cup of 2026. So, initially, our supper club members checked out cookbooks and online to find delicious recipes from Argentina.
So, let’s see what our group is up to now as a dine with an authentic Argentina menu.
ARGENTINA THEMED MENU
Table Setting
Our dining table has an off-white table runner running down the middle. It has an off-white floral arrangement in a green vase displayed on a white serving tray. For convivence, the dinner’s wine is also on the table runner.
Each green placemat has two ecru, brown and green stoneware plates on it. A large ecru napkin covers the plates with a wooden handle steak knife.
To serve the dinner wine, the table is also set with two glasses.

Drinks
During the cocktail hour, the group chatted and drank a delicious tart, citrus drink. Then, during the meal, the group enjoyed wine from Argentina’s vineyards.

A half lime slice and circles of lemon and lime peels adorn this drink.
Argentina Appetizer
The appetizer is Provoleta. This is provolone cheese topped with fresh oregano and zesty red pepper flakes.
To make the appetizer, the cheese is slightly melted in the oven, then broiled. Lastly the cheese is drizzled with olive oil and served with crisp crostini.
This appetizer comes out from out of the broiler with the cheese slightly brown and ready to serve on crostini or crackers.

Salad Course
The salad course is Ensalada Verde which is a simple fresh green salad made with Romaine lettuce, red onion slices, and grape red tomatoes. A homemade olive oil and red wine vinegar dressing was used to dress the salad.

The salad course– on ecru, brown and green stoneware plates.
Side Dish – Argentine Ensalada Rusa
The side dish today is Ensalada Rusa, a classic potato salad made with cubes yellow flesh potatoes, mayonnaise, lemon juice and the addition of fresh green peas.

Main Dish – Milanese a la Napolitana
Milanese a la Napolitana is thinly slice beef dipped in an egg wash then coated in crunchy panko breadcrumbs and browned in oil.
The beef slices are then topped with tomato sauce, then a slice of ham and mozzarella cheese. Lastly, the pieces are broiled until the cheese melts.

Dessert – Cuadrado de Limon
As a sweet ending to our Argentina meal, Cuadrado de Limon dessert bars are served. The bottom layer of the bar is tender buttery pie crust topped with a tart, bright lemon filling.
I’m glad everyone got a generous slice of these sweet and tart dessert bars.
The Cuadrado de Limon dessert bars have a little powdered sugar over the tops. In the background, please note the autumn themed wooden pumpkin table decoration.

Ending Notes on Hola Argentina Blog
Hola Argentina is my take on the meal the group made. It says hello to those close friends that frequently come together to enjoy each other’s company and, this time, enjoy a delicious Argentina meal.
It is not really the meal that is important with this group but the enduring friendships and learning to make new meals in the kitchen.
The evening’s host even has a way to thank everyone for their efforts with a small take home treat bag.
This time the group received a cute tea towel and a steak rub for their chicken, pork, salmon, etc.

A fun and useful tea towel and a tin of steak rub – Thank You Gift.
Another Big Thank You to C.M. for her amazing meal photos and the idea for today’s blog topic.
Also, a big thank you to those creative and fun loving, supper club members who enjoy a great meal and allow me to blog about their efforts.
Hola Argentina and those Supper Club Members!!
