Historic Farmhouse Donation
With the new year upon us, I decided to declutter a bit and donate a few items to the historic farmhouse and plantation.
I recently found this vintage gold colored glass bell tree ornament in the junk store for only .50 cents.
I think it dates back to about 1950 or 1960’s. Notice the metal top, if the top is smaller in size, the the age of the ornament is generally greater.
I decided to donate it to the farmhouse as they have their holiday items out and could use an extra vintage bulb.
Realistic Looking Faux Pears Boxed Pears and Paraffin WaxThis second donation went to the historic plantation.
I found these realistic looking pears in the junk store. They were a little expensive at $5.00, but I decided to buy them anyway because I loved their look.
I, also, donated that .50 cent box of paraffin wax to the plantation. The plantation is a teaching historic site with many schools touring it. The plantation might be able to use the paraffin wax perhaps in a making candles display or a canning exhibit.
Of course, regarding my donations, what goes on display is up to the site historian at each site. For example, it needs to be site and/or age appropriate. Faux pineapples would never be accepted since that is not something they would have used at the farmhouse or grew on the farm in this area.
In keeping that in mind, I hope to see my donations on display at some point.
