Happy Mother’s Day! – 2021

Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers!

So what are my plans for today? I always have a Mother’s Day Bar-B-Que as I learned a long time ago, it doesn’t pay to go out and eat. You spend more time waiting for a seat, bad service, and overpriced meals than enjoying the day.

My Mother’s Day menu includes Bar-B-Que chicken breasts, fresh corn on the cob, baked beans and a chocolate raspberry cake for dessert. Yum.

My day also included a walk at the farm. We also looked at the new display in the farmhouse windows.

So what’s being a Mother like? Being a mom is the best job you will ever undertake. It’s always a challenge but it does have its ups and downs. It teaches you patience, endurance, and true love. For example, you can spend a lot of time looking at bugs together or other things in nature. You will also watch your child’s favorite tv show or movie for a zillion times. It’s finding your voice to speak up to protect and nurture your child.

But children grow up and before your know it, your role as mom has changed.

Your son or daughter will still give you that unmatched love, but will need you less, and eventually move on.

Not to worry though, there is always the possibility of becoming a Grandmother.

Being a mom is breathtaking, beautiful, exciting, and a whirl of activities all at once.
