Fabric Applique Pumpkin Sweatshirt

While cleaning out the laundry room, I came across this old black sweat shirt I did a fabric applique on.

It was actually part of a kit consisting of three pumpkins and the checked frame around them.

I hand painted on the leaves and wheat chaffs.  Don’t paint the leaves a solid color.  It looks best to have some of the black sweat shirt showing around the leaf edges.

The black sweat shirt was purchased separately.

The fabric appliques were ironed on the sweat shirt with iron on webbing.

Then I went over the pumpkins and the fabric edges with a fine tipped fabric painter.

I drew in the black lines to define the pumpkin details and the white shine areas.  The white shine areas were also outlined in black fabric paint.

I haven’t worn this sweat shirt in a number of years because it doesn’t fit.

It also needs careful hand washing.

I’m thinking I might be able to make a pillow out of this sweat shirt at some point and use the front panel.

Perhaps during the COVID-19 era, this is the time to get busy with that project?

Extra Feature

As long as we are having Halloween in April, I decided to add a photograph of my extra large Pfaltzgraff Designer Collection Mug.  The cup’s sides are decorated with a simple Halloween theme.

Underneath the mug, I have a Trick or Treat, Black Cat, Candy Corn and Pumpkin imprinted purple napkin.

I purchased this mug at a Pfaltzgraff Outlet Store.

I guess it’s never too early to enjoy a pumpkin spiced latte.
