We were up early and decided to visit the First Bake Cafe at the Reston Metro Station. In fact, the First Bake Cafe is actually part of the popular Founding Farmers Restaurant.
Also, what a great idea this cafe is. If you don’t have time for the full restaurant meal at Founding Farmers, you can stop in the First Bake Cafe for something quick to eat. A lot of people going on the metro might need a quick sandwich, bakery treat or cup of coffee. However, please note there is no eating on the Metro, so plan your time accordingly.
Ordering Breakfast
We were immediately greeted by two very nice women working the take out counter. We both ordered a bacon, egg and muffin breakfast sandwich and two coffees to go.
However, they also have breakfast burritos, bowls, or baked bread.
I spent some time looking at the home-made bakery treats such as donuts, cookies and other treats. Apparently, everything is made from scratch including the muffins.
Their coffee is house-roasted and is delicious. If you want, you can buy a bag of ground or whole beam coffee to take home with you.
Ending Notes on First Bake Cafe
To be truthful, the sandwiches and coffee were excellent. We ended up taking a few minutes to eat our meal out on their clean and comfortable patio seating area. We enjoyed looking at the colorful flowers in the green wooden planters outlining their patio area.
It was nice to relax for a few minutes in a lovey setting.
I’ve enjoyed all my meals at Founding Farmers. Now I find their First Bake Cafe to, also, be a wonderful experience.
