Yesterday we met for lunch at a casino in Rocky Gap which included two lunch meals of crab meat eggs benedict. It was a nice sunny day for a drive.
We, always, enjoy meeting this person for lunch. Interestingly enough, we also ran into two people from the “old neighborhood”.
Lunch Time and Eggs Benedict
We planned our trip so both parties would arrive for lunch. We were hungry, so we headed to a restaurant.
Let’s see our table ordered a pasta and bread meal, eggs and sausage on a thin cracker bread and two crab meat eggs benedicts.
The pasta meal looked good and we were told the topping of the eggs and sausage meal tasted good.
This was the first time I tried the Eggs Benedict, so I wasn’t sure what it should taste like. However, in a true Eggs Benedict meal the eggs are poached. The eggs on my English muffins were definitely hard baked without runny yolks. I, also, didn’t notice any Hollandaise sauce poured over the eggs but there was some melted butter sauce poured on top. The meal came with some nice cubed fried potatoes.
Actually, I looked up how to make Hollandaise sauce. It uses about 10 tablespoons of butter with three egg yolks which are placed in blender with some lemon juice. Instead of a bacon or ham topping, there was some tasty crab meat sprinkled over the tops of our two meals.
The restaurant was crowded and seemed a bit short handed as we waited about an hour for meal. No worries, however, since we enjoyed chatting to each other and drinking iced tea.
Rest and Relaxation
After lunch, we headed out to the outdoor seating area for a few minutes. This is always my favorite part of the trip.
It’s so nice to sit outside on their outdoor furniture. We were able to see some people on the water with paddle boats which glided by our spot.
I walked up to the clear water and noticed the shore line was very clean.
Ending Notes on Eggs Benedict Blog
After sitting a bit and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine, it was time to leave.
We said our good byes and were back on the road again but plan to meet for lunch again.
