OK, we are back to economical storage solutions using secondhand items to solve our storage issues. We recently took a trip to a secondhand charity shop to see what we could find.
I mentioned in earlier blogs about needing furniture for an empty condo with a near zero shopping budget. We are pretty specific about we need and how much we can spend. On today’s trip, however, we also found a few economical storage solution ideas to blog about.
You can read about them below.
White and Natural Wood Bedside Table
I liked this small bedside cabinet in white and natural wood tones. The handles are, also, white.
It’s cute, small and works well for extra storage since it has three drawers.

This piece fits into a lot of small areas.
Four Colorful Storage Bins
I think this next piece would look great in a child’s room to hold all her toys, dolls, or other items. The frame is black wood and the storage bins fit into the four openings.
If you don’t like the flower pattern bins in the wooden base, you can change them out for baskets, clear plastic bins, shoe boxes, etc.

Multiple Storage Boxes
I absolutely love this next piece as it has so many nice storage nooks for all your items. It is wood painted black, and it is fairly large. It also looks adult-like and sleek.
I think this would work well in an office setting, den, dining room, playroom, etc.
In fact, this is my favorite piece for today’s visit. Not sure, but it might be able to be used for wine bottle storage. (?)
If I’m not mistaken this piece was priced at only $45.

Folding Up Wood Storage Unit
This folding up wood storage unit folds up in the spring and summer months when not in use.
It looks well made in a gold tone wrought iron design. I have one very similar which does not have the fold up and store away feature.
Of course, this piece is for those having a wood burner or fire place.
Humm, I’m thinking if this unit would be flat enough to add a wooden tabletop to make it into a small table in the summer?

This clever design helps those who want to store this piece away until cold weather. Then it can be opened up for the firewood.
Rustic Farmhouse Barn Door Storage Unit
Wow, this storage unit has two doors on it which look and operate like barn doors. Unfortunately, it was already sold. It is both useful and very country looking.

Ending Notes on Economical Storage Solutions
On today’s shopping trip I found one nice painting in a black frame which I think might work in our unfurnished condo.
For everyone else, today’s blog is about shopping secondhand and realizing the befits of reusing perfectly functional items. And, as an extra bonus, it helps provide charities with funding and saves the world by having fewer items taken to the local dump.
Yes, economical storage solutions are available for those willing to shop secondhand.
A Big Thank You to all charity shops which collect and resell items to raise funds.
A Special Thank You my local ReStore Shop.
