Our Christmas Eve 2021 celebration dinner began at 5 p.m.
Table Setting
The table setting was a bright white table cloth along with a blue stripped table runner placed vertically on the table. Then a shorter red holly table runner was placed horizontally over the blue stripped table runner.
The photograph on the left, shows the cheddar cheese ball served with a wooden parrot serving utensil.
Maroon red table napkins were rolled up and placed in shiny holly napkin rings.
Shiny red, light green, and dark green snowflakes cover the table top
Christmas Eve 2021 Centerpiece
The centerpiece is a red wagon which I had purchased years ago at a yard sale. I filled the wagon with red poinsettias, berries, and holiday themed ribbon.
Three wooden nesting Santa dolls and two red candles in clear candlestick holders set the mood.
We also played a variety of holiday music.
Christmas Eve Menu
- Cheddar Cheese Ball rolled in Walnuts and sprinkled with Bacon Bits and Parsley
- Baked Ham with Bone
- Onion Mashed Potatoes
- Asparagus
- Buche de Noel or Yule Log Dessert
- Red Wine
- Coffee
The wine is a chilled field blend red wine, 2018 Reserve, from California. It was given to us as a gift this year.
The photograph on the right, shows the cheddar cheese ball, crackers and cucumber slices.
Buche de Noel Chocolate Raspberry Cake
The below photograph shows a close up of the Buche de Noel Chocolate Cake with raspberry filling.
The cake top came with a mini Santa’s sled, presents, and even a Christmas tree. The cake came on a gold tone serving board. I was easily able to transfer the whole thing onto my aluminum serving tray.
The cake was excellent and the chocolate flavor really came through. The icing and filling were not too sweet.
Ending Holiday Notes
Our family had a wonderful Christmas eve celebration and enjoyed the delicious meal.
I’m going to save the plastic Yule cake decorations because I’m thinking of trying to make one next year.
Or should next year be that gingerbread house?
So here at FMB we say, Merry Christmas Everyone . . . and to All a Good Night!
For your information: I thought my Readers would love to see one of the presents under my tree.
Note To Santa – What’s up with the mixed Happy Birthday/Snowflake Wrapping Paper?
I guess the true meaning of the holiday.
