Christmas 2021

This Christmas 2021 morning I was up early so I could get things ready for the day, and to start the morning coffee.

Cookie Display

Arranging the cookies on a double dish cookie display is the first item on my list.

I forgot to take them out of the freezer, but my cookies quickly came to room temperature.

The photograph on the left, shows that the sun is beginning to come up and shine through the windows.

I mix both my homemade cookies and store items on this double dish display rack.

Adding some Christmas candy completes the cookie display.

Christmas 2021 Breakfast

The second item I need to take care of is making breakfast. Scrambled eggs and waffles with sprinkles are on the menu for today.

For the waffles, I used an organic waffle mix that contained “birthday” sprinkles but I think you could probably add your own sprinkles. I preheated my Belgium waffle maker before adding the batter.

The below photograph shows sprinkles in the mixture. At this point, I am ready to put down the top lid of waffle maker.

Never overfill your waffle maker or you will end up with a big mess to clean.

To fill the waffle maker with batter, start at the center and slowly pour your way out to the edges.

The waffles can be broken apart and served with whipped cream, sugar-free pancake syrup or fruit.

These round waffles can be reheated in the microwave as needed.

The scrambled eggs are made ahead. Peeled sliced oranges and rosemary garnish the serving dish. There was also ham from yesterday’s meal.

Taking a Walk in the Neighborhood

After opening presents and breakfast, we took a walk to get some fresh air. It was a lovely day with temperatures in the 60’s.

We also saw the neighborhood’s holiday displays.

Christmas 2021 Dinner

Paisley placemats and buffalo checked white and black cloth napkins made up the linens for the holiday table.

I reused the bright green green and red holly napkin rings. I also left the bright red, light green, and green plastic snow flake decorations on the table.

This was the first time I made skinless turkey tenderloins. I think I should have made some fresh cranberry sauce to go with this dinner but was unable to find any in the stores.

I was, also, to use fresh cranberries to garnish the Poinsettia Cocktails but in the end used some fresh pomegranate arils. The Poinsettia Cocktails turned out great and were very refreshing.

Ending of the Day and Christmas 2021 Blog

The day ends on our Christmas celebration but we will remain hopeful and look forward to the upcoming new year.

May your home be filled with love and happiness on this day, and every day of the year.

Our ending wish is to put an end of the continuing COVID pandemic.

A Special Thank You to all our Friends and Neighbors for the holiday gifts–wine, cookies, and skin-saving lip balms.

Merry Christmas!
