Let’s see at the condo, we have empty rooms. In fact, the whole condo is empty. Basically, we are decorating every room but have few dollars for the project. Plus, we don’t have much furniture to move from the old rental. Fortunately, every room has a neutral color scheme and is, basically, a blank slate. This is great because if we want to, we can add an accent color to our rooms.
We’re thinking of having the main colors of black, white, brown, and taupe with modern pieces. Our condo owner also wants to include some black and white stripes.
Bringing my Readers up to date, we have already fixed part A of the door issues. Still in works, is part B. I need to get a part for that one but haven’t made it to the hardware store yet.
On a previous, restore shopping trip we found a small desk with colorful plastic inserts. I pulled these out and changed them all to black for a cohesive look. During moving day, the back part of the desk came off. The old staples were removed, and it was stapled back on with a staple gun.

We changed out the drawer colors to all black.
The small desk is now in the living room area.

Putting Together the Bed from a Kit – Empty Rooms
Yesterday, we put together the metal bed. It is from an inexpensive bed kit from the internet, (note: under $50). It has been sitting in the box for the last year. It took about an hour and a half to get it together. The bed is slim and fits against the wall in the master bedroom. We have a super plush mattress that goes on top along with a thin box spring. OK, it comes almost to the top of this headboard, but it looks comfortable.

Dining Room Table and Chairs
We ordered a new small rectangle table and chairs from a big box store. It seats four comfortable. We ordered two white chairs and two black chairs because our owner thought it looked “cool” in the show room.
I had another person tell me that the table looks a little like a card table. OK, that is probably a fair statement. Table and four chairs are under $150.
We’re thinking things are easy to replace when there is more money available.
Beautiful Flatware
J., our neighbor, brought over a beautiful flatware set for eight to help the new owner set up housekeeping. Note: I believe this is nicer than my flatware set.
There isn’t much storage room in the kitchen cabinets. They are well made but on the smaller size. I tried to fit in a plastic flatware organizer in the one drawer but it doesn’t fit. I’ll return it for a refund.
However, a smarter way to go might be to get a wooden three section silverware holder and keep it on the quartz countertops.
Presently, I’m looking for something in this line. I’ll let my Readers know when I find the perfect one.

Ending Notes on Empty Rooms
So much to do yet, but I’ll keep our Readers posted.
Previously, I took over two white laundry baskets, a bathmat, and a handful of white hangers. All useful items for that person who will be moving in soon.
A Special Thank you to J., for the beautiful flatware set. It has definitely come in handy and I’m sure it will be used for many years.
