Ice Skating Rink
Last Saturday night, we took a trip to the ice-skating rink at Reston Town Center. It is a lively place to be with a lot of skaters both old and young. Everyone looked like they were having a great time.
There is an outdoor covered rink so one gets lots of crisp fresh air with their ice skating.
The photograph above is of old ice hockey sticks, however, I don’t believe they have any ice hockey at this rink.
At one time, they gave ice skating lessons very early Saturday mornings. Not sure when they do it now as it always seems to be covered with skaters. Little kids were given a large plastic bucket to hold onto while they learned to skate. They pushed the bucket in front of them to hold on to in case they started to fall. Some children were not much taller than the bucket.
This is, also, a great place to sit and have a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. It’s nice to watch the world go by or, as in this case, the skaters glide by.
