Farmhouse Magic Blog wishes all mom’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day 2024! So, how do to celebrate Mom’s Day? Here is a breakdown of our festivities.
Pastry Filled Breakfast for Happy Mother’s Day 2024
One of the first things I did was open my cards and my box of chocolate candy. Then, I remembered to put on my old Mother’s Day necklace, my friend, made me many years ago. Ok, he was pretty young when he made it. Basically, it consists of a keychain with a tiger wearing a safari hat and old CSC lanyard but he thought it was a good gift for mom. Also of note, the CSC company does not exist anymore. I believe it was purchased by another company approximately 30 years ago. So this necklace is really a thing with a past history.
After we got dressed, we headed out to the first coffee and pastry shop. Unfortunately, that cafe was filled to the brim with patrons, so we decided to eat elsewhere and avoid the wait.
Our second stop was a Korean bakery. They have several around my area. All the pastries, bread, cakes and cookies looked yummy. So, we filled our tray up with a variety of pastries which we all shared.
I picked out the strawberry and whipped cream croissant. I believe, it was perfect, not too sweet, fresh and tasty.
Now a days, it seems like no one ever serves decaf coffee, so we only had one cup of regular coffee. Then after finishing our treats, went looking for decaf coffee. Even Starbucks doesn’t sell plain old decaffeinated coffee, that always surprises me. These places always offer a pour over, but frankly I like a cup of good old decaf better.
Ending Notes
My final notes from Happy Mother’s Day 2024 is I’m now waiting for the chicken breasts to cook on the BBQ. Every year we have a Mother’s Day and, also, a Father’s Day, BBQ. I, believe, on today’s menu, we are also having asparagus and grilled mixed peppers.
In conclusion, thank you Moms for all you do and Happy Mother’s Day 2024!
And for my own Mom, thanks for being a great mom and teaching me everything. I’m thinking about you today and I miss you. Also, miss my mother-in-law, one of the kindest persons I ever met. She always thought of me as her “third daughter”.
