This week, my gal pal and myself drank cold soda, then came home with two bars of homemade soap from the Bloom Gift Shop. So please, allow me to give my Readers more details about the homemade soap part.
We decided to visit the new patio of the Blossom Daily Cafe which is run by a non profit organization. Their mission is to have services, resources, and partnerships supporting people with disabilities. In particular, this cafe teaches employees valuable lessons in food preparation, retail operations, and customer service.
In fact, this is actually a new location for this organization. They are having their opening ribbon cutting ceremony this week.
Their cafe menu offers a variety of items from sandwiches, wraps, drinks, soups, salads, chips, popcorn, and candy. I even noted they sell fresh baked cookies; that always, gets my attention.
At the cafe window, we were waited on by a delightful young lady. She gave us our order and rang up the sales. We then sat on the patio bench under the shade of a large tree, chatted, and enjoyed the sunny day.
The Bloom Gift Shop – Soaps, Candles and Greeting Cards
Before sitting down, I asked if we could come in and see their Bloom Gift Shop where they sell one-of-a-kind items. In the shop there are homemade soaps, candles and greeting cards made by their clients. Their shop is conveniently located right as you come in the building’s back doors. We browsed through their selection of items and together purchased two soaps and one candle. When things are sold, the profits from the item, are returned to the person who made the item.
Our purchased items were nicely placed in a reusable colorful bag.
Ending Notes
In conclusion, we had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying our cold sodas.
In fact, we plan on returning for lunch or perhaps another shopping trip to the Bloom Gift Shop.
