As we continue with our redecorating the bedroom blog, we begin first by remaking the bed.

The photograph below, shows the odd assortment of red, white, blue, and green color scheme in the old bedroom pillows.
The bed also has an old red, white and blue cotton quilt on it, but I don’t believe that is visible on this photograph.
Feather-Down Pillow Inserts
The two 18 x 18-inch feather-down pillows inserts are now here, so yesterday I put the pillows together.
As a tip, be sure that the tags go into the pillow cases first so they they don’t get stuck in the zipper when you put them on or off to wash.
The feather-down pillow inserts fit perfectly into the new ecru colored accent pillow cases and look great.
The feather-down pillow inserts came in plastic bags but be sure to shake them up a bit to distribute the feathers.
Accent Pillow Covers
The two new, but secondhand, West Elm pillow covers are super soft. I paid $8 each for them in a church resale store.
In the below photograph, I put one pillow case and bedspread together so my Readers can see how nicely they match.
The gray bedspread came from the Pottery Barn online store.
I, also, ordered a large lumbar pillow in red, gray, and black tones for the bed. The down filled pillow insert came separately.
This pillow and insert came from Pottery Barn.
Making the Bed
All the sheets came from the Pottery Barn and went into the wash. Two extra pillow cases came in useful for all the pillows on this bed.
I found the wall around the bed to be too dusty so I got a bucket of soapy water to wipe down that area. A couple large posters were taken down, dusted and put into the closet for storage.
I then went through all the extra art work in the house, found a nice print, and hung the new picture over the bed.

Wow, the redecorated bedroom bed looks crisp, sharp and modern looking!
The earth tone grays, ecru, and maroon blend harmoniously together.
A new red waffle weave blanket is on order but now I think the windows also need new curtains.
The look also needs more gray, maroon, or red colored accent pillows.
That’s the way it is when redecorating one area, because you will find something else needing attention.
