What is New in Reston?

I’m back again to check out the progress of the new grocery store in the what is new in Reston blog. This particular store is near one of the new Reston metro stops.

Reston Metro Station – Silver Line

With COVID, some people are still working from home and not using the Metro. The new Reston station is predicted be done by the end of the year. A lot of people are anxiously waiting the opening.

Grocery Store – Wegman’s

If this grocery store is planned like their other stores, the second story with the glass windows is the dinning area.

Downstairs, lunch time offerings are sandwiches, pizzas, or fresh salads. They also offer a selection of hot or cold buffet foods.

When I visit this particular store, I always order their baked salmon with red pepper slices, asparagus spheres, and cauliflower with cheese. They have multiple food offerings and everything tastes great.

After paying for your meal, you can eat it in the upstairs’ dinning room. The dinning area is set up much like a restaurant and they always have staff around to clean up any messes.

Reston Parking

Not sure what they are doing about parking as parking is always at a premium around a Metro station. I do see what looks to be garage entrance.

Brown Windows Sills

I notice the windows in the new building look like they are “Reston Brown”.

In Reston they have a home owners association which regulates any changes you can make to your home or condo. When I recently replaced my condo’s windows and screens, I was only allowed one color choice. The window store called it “Reston Brown”.

Ending Comments

For now, I plan to check the progress of this new store and will keep our Readers posted on new happenings.

I’m also waiting to see one of those self-driving cars driving around in this area.
