Vintage Stove Shaped Toothpick Holder
At one time it was pretty common to put a toothpick holder on the dining room table for use after a meal.
My aqua colored ceramic wood burning stove is either a toothpick holder or a wooden match holder. I’m not sure of its exact use but I prefer to think of it as a toothpick holder. I think a match holder would have been larger as my little stove would not have held many matches. I think it was produced about the 1940’s era.
There are clubs devoted to toothpick collectors.
Toothpick holders are made of wood, glass, metal or china in an endless variety of shapes and styles. Early toothpicks were made of wood.
