I noticed these photographs in my phone today and I thought I would blog about this unusual vintage chopper.
I believe this red chopper is from about the early 1940’s.
The chopper is marked with A & J and stamped with “Made in America” before it became USA. It has a red wooden handle.

I like the blades on this chopper, they cross over and form an “x”.
This vintage chopper reminds one of a mezzaluna with curved sharp blades.
I found this chopper in the bottom of a silverware bin in a local junk store. I believe I paid about $3 for it but the blades are no longer sharp.
To me, it would seem that this chopper would be great to chop a variety of herbs. It would be suited for a round wooden bowl or a chopping board with an indentation in it.
I donated this usual chopper to a historic farmhouse so I no longer own it but it is an interesting kitchen utensil.
