Updating a Bunny Wreath – Making Bows

Easter Bunny Wreath Easter Bunny Wreath

This photograph shows my grape vine bunny wreath.

This wreath was actually a gift.  It initially had a bunny on a swing which I changed out.

I made these bunnies out of white felt and pink, green and blue embroidery floss.  The pastel plastic eggs and carrots came from a craft store.  The wooden eggs were original to the wreath.

I’m getting the feeling that this wreath needs a little “Farmhouse Magic”.  Perhaps I should add a ribbon or something else?

However, at this point I am not able to get to the craft store, so I am using what I have on hand.

I decided to use the orange and white ribbon colors.  I thought the orange ribbon would pick up the carrot’s color on the wreath.

I made three small white ribbons and two orange bows.  One of the orange bows was slightly smaller so I could tie it seamlessly into the larger orange ribbon.

The bows were made by looping the ribbon over several times and then tying it with a piece of green floral wire.

This photograph shows the completed wreath project hanging on the wall.

The bows were fluffed out a bit.  I cut the bottoms of the ribbons on an angle to give it a polished look.

Now my old wreath has a new look and I just used what I had around the house.

Ribbon Buying Tip . . .

Wired ribbon is always easier to work with because it keeps its shape.
