Tuna and cream cheese makes a tasty cheese ball for easy entertaining. I received this recipe years ago from a co-worker.
I always use tuna packed in oil for the best results.
Ingredients
- 1 Can of Tuna, 5-ounces, Packed in Oil
- 8-ounce Bar of Cream Cheese, at Room Temperature
- 1 Teaspoon of Onion Salt
- Dried Parsley
- Mix and mash the tuna, including the oil, and cream cheese.
- Add onion salt and mix well. If it needs more flavor add an additional teaspoon of onion salt.
- Using a spatula, roll the mixture in to a ball and wrap with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until easy to handle approximately 1-2 hours. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
- After refrigerating, roll the tuna ball in dried parsley or chopped walnuts and place on a serving dish.
I like to serve the tuna ball with soda crackers but whole wheat crackers also work well with this recipe.
Another easy variation of tuna surprise, yum!
