Today we planted all our young tomato transplants.
Every year, I can hardly wait to get out and dig in the brown soil.
This year I’m planting cherry, grape and full sized tomatoes.
Our full sized tomatoes are named Big Boy, Beefsteak, and Early Girl.
A Box Full of Tomato PlantsThe soil in this garden plot has been dug up and improved with organic material.
After each tomato plant is planted in the soil, a tomato cage is added for support. I saved my tomato cages from last year and have recycled them for use this year.
It is much easier to add the tomato cage at this point while the plant is still small.
Please note the strawberry cage in the background is loaded with blooming strawberry plants.
Tomato Cage Supports Cucumber SeedlingsWe also planted these cucumber seedlings.
I carefully separated each cucumber seedling and planted them in different areas of the garden. They are a little fragile right now, so I’m hoping they all will survive.
After carefully planting all the new seedlings and transplants, the garden was thoroughly watered.
My garden reminds me of the victory gardens from WWI and WWII. After fighting the COVID battle all year long, growing vegetables now is good for the soul.
Coleman M.,
Thank you for reading our blog and for the nice comments. I checked out your web site. I enjoyed the blog entry on facial massage using a triangular shaped rose quartz or jade stone. Any comments from my Readers? Have a great day.
