Here at Farmhouse Magic Blog, I get a lot of questions about blogging and what makes a good blog.
I can only speak for myself but I’ve been told that a blog entry has to have is something people want to read to add value to their lives.
Immediately, financial, travel, cooking, and do-it-yourself blogs comes to mind.
To be interesting, blogs need to tell a little about yourself, your dreams, your failures, etc.
Showing a side of your personal life to the whole world can be a little intimating but, also, be careful of what you post.
I’ve learned from redacting, that you should always check photographs for images and reflections in windows, mirrors, ponds, water puddles, etc. Even tattoos can identify a person and tell a story you don’t want told.
Taking photographs is my favorite part of blogging. I take and include at least one photograph with each story.
It takes a while to tie in and describe the photographs to your Readers.
I like using my own photographs so I don’t have to deal with permissions. I use a few additional photographs from family and close friends but that’s it.
Surprisingly some public places like parks and shopping centers have rules against taking photographs for your blog so try to do a little research on places before you post.
I don’t use any photographs from the internet.
Traffic Sign with Red ReflectorsSo now we come to the hardest part of blogging for me, that is, ending the blog and summing things up.
Like the photographs of these three warning end of the road signs, every blog posting has an end. Try to end on a positive note or put a smile on someone’s face.
I hope I have answered a few questions regarding my blogging efforts but always feel free to contact me if you have additional questions about my blog–Farmhouse Magic Blog.
