Adorable Thumb Print Tree

This thumb print tree painting is probably one of the best gifts I ever received.  It was given to me back in 2018, and it still means the world to me.

At that time, I was working with young children.

I loved every minute of the class.

This adorable thumb print tree is a perfect gift for teachers and educators.

The thumb print tree was made with an 8 x 8-inch canvas easel and painted with non toxic acrylic paints.

The background and sides, were first painted a light blue gray color.  The tree trunk and branches were painted an orangish brown.

Then each child in the class carefully pushed their thumb into either green or dark green paint.  The last step was to put their thumb print onto the canvas to make the tree’s leaves.

When dry, each child’s name was written in a black ink pen beside their thumb print.

For privacy reasons, I blocked off each child’s name with a small piece of white paper.

I love the inscription, “Thank you for helping us grow!”

If they only knew they were the ones helping me grow.

Working with young children, allows you to see things in their eyes and again see the wonders of world.

Each thumb print represents a special young person with their own personality, laugh, and smile.

Thank you for reading our blog and for the nice comments. I’m glad you think are posts are short, get to the point, and “filter out the noise”. I absolutely hate it when a blog is broken up to add things non related to the blog. Enjoy the sunny day and keep reading our blog.
