The Home Owner’s Photography Contest

I belong to a home owner’s association which is running a photography contest.

To enter you must take five photographs of your yard in full spring bloom and submit them.

The prize is a gift certificate to a garden center.  I love to garden, so that sounds like a pretty good prize to me.

I’ve entered the HOA contests before but I never seem to win.

Of course this time of year, I have many plants in bloom but so does the whole neighborhood.

My Readers probably recognize that all the photographs came from my yard.

I’m not sure if I should enter or not.

My lawn is always scruffy looking with lots of weeds in it.  I also have some junk in my yard which needs to be disposed of.

But for a few weeks in the spring, I love roaming around my yard and looking at all the blooming flowers, shrubs, and trees.

So perhaps, I’ll clear my camera of all of my yard photographs and start afresh.

Because who knows, maybe I’ll win this year.

What do my Readers think?

UPDATE 4-18-2021 –The morning light was soft, so I took some photographs of my yard.  I submitted five of the best photographs to the contest site.  I’ll keep my Readers posted if I win anything.

UPDATE 7-19-21 – Unfortunately, I didn’t win a gift certificate to the garden store.  However, I did get a mention of entering the contest in the home owners association’s newsletter.  Well better luck next year, right?
