ReStore’s Fireplace Screen

This weekend, I’m back at the ReStore shop in Chantilly looking for a few bargains to fill my house and noticed ReStore’s fireplace screen.

I always enjoy browsing in the front of the store before heading to their large back showroom.

Side Table Storage Chest

The first thing I saw in the ReStore shop is a side table storage chest. This piece of furniture does double duty because not only is it a side table and you can also use the chest for extra storage.

The brown chest has an unusual leather handle on the side and decorative upholstery tacks.

The bottom half of the chest has four ornate legs also painted brown.

Brass Blanket or Quilt Holder

I then saw this brass blanket or quilt holder for the bedroom. The brass blanket holder has a double rod support near the feet of the holder.

This brass blanket and quilt holder would look nice in a bedroom aiming for a vintage-look.

Not only does it store your blankets and quilts, but it will also display that family heirloom quilt.

Bunnykins Royal Doulton Plate

No trip to the ReStore shop would be complete without checking out the homeware department.

This time I found a Bunnykins Royal Doulton plate on sale for only $3 dollars. This plate is part of the Bunnykins Series and is vintage dating back to 1960’s. On the back of the plate it is stamped, “English Bone China” “Made in England”, “Copyright by Royal Doulton Tableware Ltd.”

This child’s plate shows the Bunnykin family out for a camping adventure. An illustration of brown bunnies encircles the outer edge of the plate.

The colors on the front of this plate look slightly faded, but it would still delight a young toddler at mealtime.

This plate is about 8 inches in diameter and in when in excellent condition sells for about $13-20 per plate.

Frontgate Fireplace Screen

The below photograph of this beautiful black fireplace screen has a tag on the front that is is from Frontgate. The fireplace screen is a classic design of iron backed by fine wire to block any sparks from leaving the hearth.

Frontgate is an upscale store which, according to their website, sells exclusive designs which are made for life. It looks like most of their fireplace screens sell any where from about $400 to over $1,000.

The front of the ReStore Fireplace screen has a Frontgate tag on the lower bottom area.

I had a difficult time getting a good photograph of this Frontgate fireplace screen.

This view actually is the back of the screen.

I wasn’t sure what this well-made fireplace screen was priced at, but it is a beauty.

Poly-fill Bags

One, of course, never knows what you’ll find in a ReStore shop so I wasn’t surprised to see these new bags of Poly-fil which is a type of polyester used to fill craft item such as dolls, stuffed animals, etc. (See below photograph).

The 12-ounce bags sells in the craft stores for about $5 or less a bag.

With so many people working on holiday crafts, right now, I’m sure someone could use these.

A Special Thank You to hardworking James of the ReStore shop for allowing me to take photographs and to blog about their wonderful store.

The ReStore shop is crazy busy on Saturdays with people loading/unloading items, others wanting prices on items, or those who have questions in general. James and his staff of volunteers does a great job in keeping things running smoothly. Everyone leaves happy. Thanks James!
