As I’ve said before, you never know what you will find in your local ReStore shop so today’s topic is ReStore for Sporting Goods.
Today while browsing through the merchandise, I saw this croquet set with mallets. What perfect timing for purchasing a croquet set with the upcoming warmer weather days ahead.
The Croquet Set and ReStore for Sporting Goods
Croquet is a lawn game with colored wooden or plastic balls. A player tries to tap their ball through a series of hoops or wickets, with the use of a wooden mallet. Croquet’s long history dates back to 1856.
Remember when Alice in Wonderland asked the flamingo if he played croquet? Sorry no flamingo shaped mallets comes with this professional-looking croquet set.
As a kid, we had an old set of wooden croquet mallets. We would hit any type of ball all over the yard. Needless to say, we never followed the official croquet rules.
The photograph on the left shows a set of six rubber headed mallets with a carrying/storage caddy.
Contractor Donations
ReStore always has a large selection of items contractors or do-it-yourselfers could use.
The selection changes constantly depending on the type of donations they get in.
Remember, recycling goods saves our earth because fewer things end up in land fills.
Modern Sink, Cabinet and Faucet
I love the look of this very modern square porcelain sink and cabinet. The bottom of the cabinet has a black matte finish and open design.
This sink comes with what looks to be a Delta bathroom faucet in a black matte finish.
If you purchase a good faucet lately, most likely you will pay over $100 for this.
Decorative Vases
On this visit, the ReStore shop has a lot of what looks like to be new large decorative vases and décor.
If you want to refresh your living spaces, then perhaps you could use some large white vases or silver decorative pieces.
A grouping of the below vases would be stunning in the living room or even a set on your fireplace mantel. You could also add some faux flowers to the large vases to tie the color into your decorating scheme.
Homemade Shelf/Bench
This homemade bench’s purpose has a lot of ways it could go. It is either a bench or a shelf. There are, also, some red painted wooden pieces that go with it.
I could almost see this piece holding shoes as one came in the front door or in a closet setting. The top part could hold your purse or tote bags.
In the kitchen it could hold cans, pans or other items.
This shelf might, also, work as a potting center. You could put your bags of soil on the second shelf along with your smaller tetra cotta crocks.
The pieces of wood that are tacked on to the bottom legs of this shelf gives it extra stability.
Use your imagination and I am sure you will be able to find a use for this multi-purpose item.
