I was at the ReStore store in the Herndon/Reston location looking around for interesting items to blog about. I snapped this photograph of the old movie projector in the background, (priced at $30.00).
Remember those old blue film projectors at school where the teacher would have to fiddle around with the reels of film to get the movie running? At the end of the movie, the film projectionist had to rewind the film and then place it back into the metal canister. We have come a long way in the field of video since that time.
The front item is a movie camera and is priced at $75.00. It looks like it is well made.
The vintage oval shaped movie camera stands on three legs.
The move projector in the background comes with one film reel.
Some reels were made smaller for shorter films.
Old Film Projector Vintage Adding MachineThis photograph shows a vintage adding machine. Notice the odd placement of the one to nine keys. It has an old black and red roll of inked ribbon in it. This machine is priced at $100.00.
The front item is a stenotype booklet on a black plastic case. I guess the case contains a stenotype machine priced at only $5.00.
I wonder if the case is empty or if stenotype machines are not worth much?
The last photograph is of an ornate glass chandelier.
The bulbs would hang down in an odd way but it’s hard to tell without actually hanging it up to get a look at it.
I would hate to be the person to clean all those crystals on it.
Ornate Glass ChandelierAnd so ends our shopping trip for today.
We hope that you enjoyed the items we decided to showcase on today’s blog.
