ReStore and the Sea

Today, as I was thinking about today’s blog title, ReStore and the Sea, kept popping up. Last week, shopping at my local ReStore shop, I noted quite a few sea-themed items. Therefore, below is my sea-themed blog.

TYR Crossblade Fins

So, I was surprised to notice a pair of TYR Crossblade Fins at the ReStore. In checking some of the online sites, these fins are multipurpose in that one use is to improve your water stride and stamina.

Sea Limpets in Black Frame

I noted, that the Sea Limpets in the Black Frame are located near the front of the store and are priced at $75. This would make quite the unusual holiday gift and, of course, this framed piece is very interesting to look at.

According to online research, limpets are a group of sea snails with a strong muscular foot and the top conical shell. They scrape algae off rocks for nutrition. Although, online it stated limpets are edible, the muscular foot is apparently not very tasty.

The limpets in this black frame are attractively arranged on white material. They are shiny and to my research look like Oval Hawaiian limpets. However, I am not a limpet expert, by any stretch of the imagination, so please don’t quote me.

Harbor Cafe Storage Cabinet & ReStore and the Sea

This Harbor Cafe Storage Cabinet is too cute to walk away from. I actually purchased this item at a great price. I gave it to my next door neighbor for her granddaughter. I’m thinking this would be great storage unit for a little girl. Originally, I guess it might have been used in a sea-themed home. I believe one shelf is missing but since it has adjustable shelfing, I don’t think that matters.

I love this Harbor Cafe Storage Cabinet. It is fully Painted on three sides to look like a house near the sea. I’m calling it the Harbor Cafe Storage Cabinet since that is the name painted over the front door.

The storage unit opens from the top and has multiple adjustable shelves great for storing small items.

Mirror Backed Dresser

My last item, is this mirror backed 3-drawer heavy dresser. To my eye, it looks well made. It does have one slight crack in the top mirror drawer but that is only apparent when you look closely at it. It is of a perfect size to fit into a lot of different areas.

Ending Notes on ReStore and the Sea Blog

In conclusion, I agree the mirror dresser is not related to the sea, but I thought I include it with today’s items.

All in all, I hope you enjoyed my look at the ReStore and the sea blog.

All items are available for sale at the ReStore shop located in Chantilly except for the Harbor Cafe storage unit, I previously purchased that.

A Special Thank You to James for allowing me to blog and take photographs at your ReStore shop. ReStore of Northern Virginia shops are run by the nonprofit Habitat for Humanity organization. Also, a thank you to Liz and Chaz for the nice note from ReStore.
