Paws of Honor

Paws of Honor

Yesterday while having coffee with my partner, I noted a lady wearing a blue sweat shirt with “Paws of Honor–Two Heroes, One Leash” printed on it.

I love animals, so I was curious as the what this organization is all about. I stopped the lady wearing this sweatshirt, and asked her about it.

Paws of Honor–Two Heroes, One Leash

She told me the goals of Paws of Honor is to provide veterinary care and products at no charge for military and law enforcement dogs that served our country, locally or globally.

These retired dogs deserve high quality veterinary care for their unfailing service to our country. Once a dog is retired, the monetary burden associated with his care falls directly on the officer/handler/owner of the dog. When working, these dogs usually retire at about age ten and, at that time, usually have some medical issues.

This organization partners with select veterinarians, veterinarian supply, dog food companies, et al., to provide vet care and services to these dogs at no cost.

Ending Notes

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the name of the above lady I spoke with, but her photograph is on today’s blog. She then went over the various types of fund raising the group does. They have booths at special events to collect funds which she showed me a photograph of. They, also, had a charity run and are soon planning a golf charity event.

Although I rarely post a person’s photograph on this blog, I feel her charity is a good one and deserves a few words from Farmhouse Magic Blog.

Paws of Honor, Two Heroes, One Leash has its own website where you can read various stories of those hardworking dogs and also give a donation.

Thanks Paws of Honor for thinking about our wonderful military and law enforcement dogs.
