Since the holidays were near, we decided to go Out to Lunch at an Asian noodle place within a supermarket. We had previously returned a cord to a music store, so we had the rest of the afternoon free.
I never dined at this particular place before, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was in the food court area of the supermarket. So, of course, there were other places serving food.
I noted there were some shoppers enjoying a bowl of this hot noodle dish. Since it was cold outside, this seemed like a great idea. It was priced at about $14 per bowl.
What was nice about this meal is that you could order what size noodles you wanted from very thin to very wide. We both decided to try the wide noodles in our dish.
Taste Testing of Noodle Dish
Sorry, I am unable to remember exactly what this meal or restaurant was called. The flavor was beef noodle. They added a lot of cilantro to this dish along with finely cut up spring green onions. Some sort of hot oil was poured over the top of the dish to give it more flavor. They also used beef minute steak for the meat portion of the meal.
They dished out huge bowls of the noodle dish. It was way too much for me to eat all at one sitting, so I asked for a plastic take out container to take some home. It would have been more convenient to order a smaller portion of this meal. However, my dining companion had no issue in finishing up the whole bowl. We both liked the wide noodles.
The broth was also flavored nicely, however, I think I would have preferred small chunks of beef meat over a thin slice of meat. If you wanted a spicy or hotter flavor, there were other options on the menu to select from.
Ending Notes in Out to Lunch Blog
In conclusion, today’s Out to Lunch blog was more than a hot noodle dish on a cold day.
It was also about spending quality time with my companion.
