Today I’m am hosting an art gallery showing for a couple new artists and came up with these meat, cheese and vegetable appetizers. I originally thought to serve cheese and crackers but with COVID still about, I didn’t want anyone touching the food.
I solved the issue by placing meat, cheese and vegetables on wooden skewers. It is easy to serve yourself by picking up a stick and it is a generous serving.
These appetizes come together quickly and the dish looks so festive with its many colors.
Ingredients for Meat, Cheese and Vegetable Skewers
- Gluten Free Pepperoni, Hearty Slices, one package
- Uncured Genoa Salami, one package
- Hatch Chile Monterey Jack Cheese, RBST Free, Unsliced, One Half Pound Brick
- One Orange Pepper
- One Yellow Pepper
- Red Grape Tomatoes, One Container
- Green Seedless Grapes, One Package
- Red Seedless Grapes, One Package
- Starfruit, sliced thinly, one medium sized
- Fresh Chives, Rosemary and Thyme Herbs (for garnishing)
- 8-inch Bamboo Skewers
Directions
- Thoroughly wash fruits and vegetables. Remove the seeds from the peppers.
- Gather all ingredients.
- Cut up peppers and cheese into approximately 1/2-inch chunks. Make sure you place a piece of cheese on the skewer before slicing the whole block because if it is sliced too thin, the cheese might break off the skewer.
- Using a wooden skewer, thread one piece of genoa salami, pepperoni, yellow pepper, orange pepper, cheese, and end the skewer with a grape tomato.
- For non meat eaters, I threaded a red grape, green grape and a final red grape on a few skewers.
- Place the starfruit slices near the front of the dish along with the grape skewers. Finely slice chives and sprinkle over dish.
- As a final touch place sprigs of rosemary and thyme around the starfruit. This recipe makes about 15 to 25 skewers depending on how big you cut the cheese and peppers.
It makes the assembly go quicker if everything is ready in one place.
Skewers ready to be plated.
All skewer ends should face the same direction.
The below photograph shows the finished garnished dish.
Ending Thoughts on Meat, Cheese and Vegetables Appetizers Blog
I served this dish with individually wrapped crackers.
One star shaped cracker, one toasted party cracker, and one buttery round cracker went in to each snack bag.
I used snack size bags for the crackers.
The star crackers go with the star-shaped starfruit.
UPDATE: The art gallery showing for the two new artists went better than expected. Everyone said they enjoyed the art gallery showing and the snacks.
If all goes according to plans, the paintings will be sold.

K.,
Thank you for reading our blog and for your questions on chicken coops. I think the first
thing you need to ask yourself is how many chicken will you be raising? Then decide on the size of the chicken coop. Good luck with that and have a great day.
