Jinkies, it’s the Reading Machine!

Jinkies, it’s the Reading Machine from Loudoun County Public Library System. It was spotted this weekend in a parking lot near a bread/coffee shop we like to frequent.

Jinkies, what is the Reading Machine?

So what is the Reading Machine? The Reading Machine is a van painted bright blue and green owned by the Loudoun County Public Library System.

It also has a special ramp on the back of the vehicle.

The brightly decorated van has a drawing of a large open book and a bunch of orange and purple flowers on its sides.

This new outreach van was inspired by the 1969 Mystery Machine van from the Scooby-Doo cartoon series.

Remember when Velma, Fred, Daphne, and Shaggy rode about in their groovy Mystery Machine trying to solve weird happenings? And, don’t forget Scooby-Doo the fun loving Great Dane mascot of the group. That dog would do anything for those delicious snacks.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find too much information about The Reading Machine.

Ending Notes On Today’s Blog

Apparently you can win a groovy mystery prize if you see the Reading Machine and tag #Loudoun Reading Machine.

I’m thinking a great mystery prize would be a bookmarker for all those books you plan to read. I wonder if you can also check out books from the Reading Machine?

As a tip, The Reading Machine is not actually in Loudoun County limits. Right now, it is Fairfax County and so the mystery begins. Zoinks!!
