Glitter is the word of the day and after 1,447 published blogs, I’ve never solely devoted a blog to this title.
Glitter Years Ago
I learned a lot about glitter in grade school where it seemed every holiday project was sprinkled in either gold or silver glitter.
I remember a room mom whose child was really into the embellishing with glitter glue. She thought it added a certain quality to things.
Unfortunately, the school my little friend attended did not allow glitter as it was said to be dangerous as it could get into the eyes. I guess that’s true, no one wants glitter tossed accidently into their eyes.
However, on one rare occasion, my son did come home with a plastic bag of oatmeal sprinkled with glitter. The kids were to toss the mixture near their house, so Santa’s reindeer could see it after dark. Of course, we went outside and sprinkled it about. Don’t want to miss Santa and those reindeer.
Sparkle Syrup
So, now we come to Sparkle Syrup which appears to have specks of sliver throughout the maple syrup. In the store, there is a sign that says to please shake the bottle.
According to my online research, this product is made by using pure maple syrup infused with edible, food-safe pearlescent mica. However, apparently this does not affect the taste of the product.
The purpose is to make the product seem fun and almost magical. OK, Farmhouse Magic Blog knows all about adding a hint of magic to things.
Imagine getting up on your birthday and having sparkly syrup on your pancakes, French toast or waffles. In addition, it can also be added to gourmet cocktails, lemonade or desserts.
Bottles of this product were found in a King Arthur Baking Store.
Closing Notes
All in all, even the word invokes fond memories of art projects, holiday decorating, and now cooking.
Today we are taking things a bit further by blogging about Sparkle Syrup for special and everyday use on breakfast food, drinks, dessert and more.
A Big Thank You to the King Arthur Baking Pop-Up Store for allowing me to photograph and blog about items in their Fairfax location store.
