Five Year Anniversary

July 19th, 2024, represented our Five Year Anniversary at FMB.

So, Happy Blogging Anniversary to Farmhouse Magic Blog.com!

Thank you Readers for following along on our many adventures both common and unusual. We have the unique opportunity to blog a lot about the many attractions and diversity in our area. We, also, appreciate each and every one of devoted Readers.

History of Farmhouse Magic Blog.com

Well, it looks like we are going to have to talk a bit about how this blogging came about.

I remember watching a movie once about a travel blogger, who sat down and came up with a blog for a trip she was on. Just like that! Anyway, I thought I could do that too.

Little did I know, it is the technical part, that can bring down a blog. Yes, you better have a fire wall and support with that blog to help you out.

There is also the expense of having a blog without bringing in any income. Let’s see, things run about $500 to $600 plus a year. Yes, you can go cheaper, but there is always the chance that they don’t offer any technical support. I can say as a fact, you will need technical support at some point along the way.

I started this blog right before the COVID pandemic began, and it helped me so much. I blogged almost every day about something which kept me busy. Since I was at home for basically two years, I blogged about every little thing in my house. Some blogs were definitely more interesting than others. There were even a few times when two blogs went up in one day.

What I Learned from Blogging

Blogging has been a wonderful thing for me. I’ve learned so much about other people, places and things.

In fact, I’ve learned so much I actually volunteer for two online “blogs” which are put out monthly. Yes, as soon as one is completed, I begin the next one so I don’t run out of time. This definitely takes a lot of planning on my part. Each site has about 25 to 45 new photos on it plus what ever new and interesting facts I can come up with. I also take almost all the photos. Fortunately, there is a ton of things I can write about and photograph for these sites. They always have something going on.

Did I say I learned to take and edit photographs, too? I love photos that tell a story. What I try to avoid is having a bunch of people line up in a row; to me, that doesn’t say much. I want photos that are a little different and “out of the box”. Cute and funny photographs are OK to use. I think good content along with interesting photographs is what makes a blog.

Ending Notes on Five Year Anniversary Blog

Well, enough about me. Thank you all for following me along all this time and reading Farmhouse Magic Blog.com.

A true fact, I thought I would be able to blog about a particular farmhouse. Well, that wasn’t in the cards, so I initially got the wrong name for my blog. It should have been named “something else”. But not to worry, I’ve made Farmhouse Magic Blog work and what it is today.

Of course, there are ways to make my blog better and I’m still looking into getting that subscriber button and a few other changes I would like to make.

Thanks for coming along for the wild and crazy ride. A big hug to all my Readers!

P.S. After over a thousands blogs, I have a pretty good photo library, I can pull photos from when needed. Whoops, I previously used these photos, too.
