Faux Heart Shaped Chocolate Cookies

No, the cookies on the page are not real cookies but actually are made from black Crayola Clay Model Magic.  They will be dried, painted and then used in a farmhouse display.

I made this batch of “cookies” while being filmed at the farm house.  Apparently, they make a film of all the volunteer award winners to be shown at the special presentation.

The taping started downstairs with the sewing exhibit and carried upstairs to me making my faux chocolate heart shaped cookies.  I think I’ll used some white paint to decorate them with “Royal white icing” but we’ll see.  Anyway, it took three and a half hours of taping.

I’ll never make it has an actress as I couldn’t correctly say a script with only two lines.  We did tape after tape for the sewing exhibit.

I wonder how the final tape will turn out?

Directions for Making Faux Chocolate Heart Cookies

Use one package of black colored Crayola Model Magic clay.  Roll out clay into a large circle using a rolling pin.  Make sure you are working on a piece of wax paper so you can pick up the cookies easily.

I try to roll out the clay slighter thicker than regular cookies as they will shrink some as they dry.

Select a cookie cutter to cut out the cookies and place on a drying rack.

When dry you can paint the cookies with acrylic paints or leave unpainted for “chocolate” cookies.
