Someone I know was recently named as a Culture Champion to an organization. Because I know so little about this corporate term, I decided to look into it for a blog topic.
What is a Culture Champion?
My research shows, a Culture Champion is a leader and someone of influence who believes in an organization, and has a significant impact on it. Culture Champions are also enthusiastic and supportive of change and help others with it. There are often many changes in an organization and a leader has to step forward to lead others.
Characters of a Culture Champion:
- As mentioned earlier, Culture Champions have great leadership skills and are often in leadership roles. Basically, they get things done and truly believe in the company’s goals.
- Culture Champions show enthusiasm for change and always work up to the best of their abilities.
- They communicate the need for change. If someone is not happy with the change, they will help them along with it.
- Change is not easy for anyone, and culture champions understand this. Some individuals take longer to get on with the new program.
- Culture Champions make tough decisions when someone is not living the company’s values. They are not afraid to report something that isn’t going as it should be.
- They live the new values in their day-to-day work and keep the workplace moving in a positive direction.
- Integrity and follow through with work orders are what Culture Champions are known for.
