Condo Refresh

Because it is the end of the year, this is a good time to think about a Condo Refresh. It’s about redoing, deep cleaning and more.

This Condo Refresh project is probably a little more work than I usually undertake, but I need to get it in tip top condition and don’t have a lot of time to do it. The carpeting has already been professionally cleaned for about $250.

Condo Refresh – Painting

So, what’s the easiest and cheapest refreshing project you can do? As long as you do-it-yourself, painting is probably the easiest and cheapest way to refresh a living area.

Because of a leak from an upstairs unit, this condo ceiling was actually two different colors in the kitchen. The whole ceiling has the illusion of being on the low side.

To correct both issues, the ceiling was painted with a bright white ceiling paint. Painting a ceiling bright white gives the illusion that it is higher.

Also, we replaced the low wattage ceiling lights with two large bright light fixtures.

We also ended up painting the crown molding around parts of the ceiling to match the ceiling. So, painter’s tape was placed around the areas we did not want covered in paint.

Painting the laundry room was also started. This was the only room in the condo that was a different color, so by painting the laundry room the same color as the rest of the condo, it will appear less choppy and perhaps a little larger.

Sealing Kitchen Granite Countertops

Directions were followed on the purchased cleaning and sealing products. I was surprised at how much dirt and dust that was removed from the granite countertops with the special cleaner.

After that, I applied the granite sealer and buffed the counters. It gave the countertops a nice sheen. I am going to repeat the application tomorrow for better coverage.

Ending Notes on Today’s Blog

Wow, not a moment too soon to get al this work done as the New Year quickly approaches. The only condo project I have left is to totally clean the bathroom shower/bathtub and re-caulking. As you can see, I’m leaving the hardest project for last.

Countdown to the New Year 2024!
