Christmas Eve Celebration, 2020, at Farmhouse Magic Blog was indeed magical.
We first had a holiday toast for good health, were thankful for the good food, and hoped for happy days ahead.
We then feasted on spiral ham, mashed potatoes, asparagus spears and homemade crescent rolls.
Christmas Eve DessertsFor dessert there was a chocolate and vanilla layer cake, assorted cookies, and coffee.
For my cookies, I used a two layer dessert display rack with white leaf plates imported from Portugal.
The gold embossed dessert dishes were a second hand store purchase.
Spiral Ham on Holiday TrayThe ham was a fully cooked spiral ham sprinkled with brown sugar and a little cinnamon.
I like to serve the baked ham on my holiday tray to keep the tablecloth clean.
Table Setting with Poinsettia Sled CenterpieceI used a white embordered tablecloth with a red and white stripped runner, (see above photograph).
In the center of the runner was a white and blue smaller runner with the words, “Frohliche Weihnachten” or Happy Christmas in German on it.
The poinsettia centerpiece lights up with batteries and always looks festive on the dinning room table.
Delicious and easy to make cookie tray.
Christmas Cookie DisplayThis year I did an easy cookie display, see above photograph.
The peanut butter kiss cookie dough was made earlier and frozen. I then rolled the cookies in a mixture of white and green sugar before baking. The Kiss candy was pressed in cookie immediately after they came out of the oven.
Snowflake Sugar Cookies on Baking Tray Cutting Out Sugar CookiesThe snowflake and sprinkle cookies were made out a cookie mix package. I also made some sugar cookies with a tree cookie cutter.
The sugar cookies were left undecorated.
I tossed a handful of holiday candy in the center of the cookie serving dishes.
Red Table Napkin TreeThese napkin trees can be made out of both solid and patterned cloth napkins.
I did an earlier blog on how to fold table napkins into a neat tree shape. For my serving table today, I used red napkins to make the trees.
I thought these “trees” looked quite nice on my plates.
I toped each napkin tree off with a green candy Kiss star.
So we end the evening, with good wishes for all my Farmhouse Magic Blog Readers.
Take care of yourself and let’s have a great New Year.
