I was up early this Sunday morning, neither of us had anything to eat, so we decided to have breakfast in Reston. We like to go to church on Saturday, so that leaves us all Sunday to relax, recharge, do gardening and also to go out to eat.
A Quiet Breakfast in Reston
Not wanting to drive too far out of the way, we decided to head to an upscale grocery store for their egg/cheese/bacon muffin breakfast sandwiches.
We found a parking spot way in back as the front of the garage gets too busy with people not wanting to park or walk too far away. They have an elevator or escalator to go to the upper level of the grocery store. One, also, uses the escalator to take their shopping carts down to the parking garage level but that’s another blog.
As we entered the store, they have some ready made meals one can pick up and cash out quickly. One of the dinners was mac and cheese with lobster meat. I’ve never tried that combination of food groups.
We headed to the take out section of the store. First stop, get a cup of freshly brewed coffee from their coffee machine. It takes only about a minute to get a full cup of donut-type shop coffee. It is also self-help yourself area.
Next, to pick up one of the premade sandwiches in the warming tray. I got an egg/bacon/cheese English muffin breakfast sandwich.
Ending Notes on our Meal
After cashing out at a self-check out register, we proceeded to the dining area of the store. All in all, although it was self help, it was a very pleasant experience.
The eat-in area is bright and comfortable with walls of windows overlooking the front of the store. We were the only people in this area besides a few store employee enjoying a break.
We enjoyed our morning meal and coffee. My sandwich was fresh, hot, crispy and tasty. Of course, it was nice having a few minutes to ourselves to plan and enjoy our day.
Note: For some reason, the sandwich photo would not come out, so I’ve included an egg photo from a previous blog. Oh well, on that one.
Happy Monday Everyone!
